Douglas woman arrested for drugs

The police arrested a woman in Bongani, Douglas after she was found in possession of dagga, tik and mandrax with an estimated street value of R1,000.

MEMBERS of the De Aar SAPS Public Order Policing unit and the Douglas SAPS arrested a woman in Bongani, Douglas after she was found in possession of dagga, tik and mandrax with an estimated street value of R1,000.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Sergio Kock said on Saturday that the police also confiscated cash to the value of R5,477 that was believed to be the proceeds of drug sales.

“The suspect is expected to appear in the Douglas Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of dealing in drugs,” said Kock.

The acting district commander of Pixley ka Seme, Brigadier Nomana Adonis, commended the De Aar Public Order Policing and Douglas SAPS for the “outstanding success”.
