SIXTEEN-year-old Kimberlite Jasmin le Roux is set to represent the Northern Cape as a finalist in the International Teen Supermodel South Africa beauty pageant this September.
A Grade 10 learner at Northern Cape High School, Le Roux aspires to motivate her peers by demonstrating that success is not determined by one’s background or resources. “It’s not about where you come from or how much you have,” she said, emphasising the importance of showcasing one’s capabilities.
Le Roux is a passionate advocate for mental health and depression, aiming to be a voice for the voiceless. Her journey to becoming a finalist in this prestigious competition is a dream come true, as she has aspired to be a model since the age of six.
“Even though I have always wanted to be a model, I only managed to start my modelling career in 2021, and have never looked back since. Ever since that year, my passion for modelling grew bigger,” she shared.
Describing the International Teen Supermodel South Africa as “not just a competition, but a celebration of young talent,” Le Roux is excited about the opportunity. The winner will receive a fully paid trip to represent South Africa in the USA.
Le Roux is appealing to her community for support through votes and sponsorships to help her remain in the competition. “My success in this competition doesn’t only reflect positively on me as an individual but also brings pride to my community. That is why I’m reaching out to my community, begging for your support by helping me find sponsorship and voting for me.
“They say it takes a community to raise a child. I will really appreciate my community’s support and I truly believe I have the potential to make my community proud, and I hope my community feels the same way,” she concluded.
