Numsa has labelled the Ekapa mine a “crime scene” following the February 17 mud rush that left five miners presumed dead, as the company’s sudden decision to apply for liquidation and halt operations has left more than 1,000 workers unpaid, facing job losses and claiming they were “abandoned”.
