Kimberley cable thief jailed for eight years after targeting Transnet infrastructure

A 32-year-old Kimberley man has been sentenced to eight years’ direct imprisonment after pleading guilty to stealing Transnet electrical cables in the De Beers area, in a case the NPA says highlights the growing impact of infrastructure crime on public transport, essential services, and the Northern Cape economy.
