Five ANC ward councillors in Sol Plaatje Municipality say the announcement of their expulsion from the party was " premature", insisting they have lodged appeals against the disciplinary sanction. The ANC, however, maintains that no appeals were received within the prescribed period and says the expulsions are final, setting the stage for a dispute over the councillors’ status.
