Two men arrested for dagga in Kuruman

KURUMAN – Two male suspects were arrested in separate incidents in Kuruman on Thursday for dealing in dagga.

Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Mosimaneotsile Letsapa says, on Thursday, 25 February 2021 at about 12:30 members of Wrenchville SAPS under the command of the Station Commander, Captain Disang Andrew Visser and the JTG District Crime intelligence members arrested a 34-year-old man at Promise Land for dealing in dagga.

Letsapa says, “After an intelligence-driven operation was conducted, a house was searched and 275 grams dagga with an estimated street value of R 3 500 and an undisclosed amount of cash were confiscated. A suspect was arrested.”

“On the same day, at about 14:25, the same group of officers arrested a 20-year-old man at Promise land after his house was searched and 355 grams of dagga with an estimated street value of R 5 000 and an undisclosed amount of money was confiscated.”

Both suspects will appear before the Kuruman Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of dealing in dagga.

The JTG Acting District Commander, Brigadier Francis Hender applauded Capt Visser and members involved in ensuring that criminals are apprehended and arrested. Brigadier Hender issued a stern warning to criminals that the police and members of the community will not share any space with them, Letsapa concludes.
