Another report of fish dying from municipal water

Michael Hawthorne

KIMBERLEY – A city resident found their pets floating in their pond and suspects that the Sol Plaatje Municipality’s water supply is to blame.

Amy-Leigh Thompson says they have had the fish in an outside setting for the past three years.

According to her, the fish have been thriving with no problems until today after they topped up the pond with municipal water the previous day.

Thompson says: “Except for topping up with municipal water no other factors were changed. This is clearly an indicator of unsafe water.”

Previous reports of fish dying came to light after a thousand Kimberley residents held a massive community meeting online.
