Kapt.

By die polisie se besoek in Longstraat het ’n onbekende man homself as ’n polisiebeampte voorgegee.

Kimberley Nightclub managers arrested

On Friday, 12 March 2021 at approximately 20:30 members of Kimberley SAPS, under the command of the Acting Station Commander Colonel Nicholas Mtongana, performed crime prevention duties during which they visited Night Clubs in the Kimberely area to ensure that they were complying to the Regulations of level 1 of the Disaster Management Act that all night clubs must remain closed.

Police spokesperson Capt Tessa Jansen says police found three nightclubs in Kimberley operating as normal and arrested the Managers for contravening the Disaster Management Act Section 75(1) which states that all night clubs must remain closed.

While visiting another club in Long street an unknown man impersonated a police official, and instructed the public not to leave as requested by the police, she says.

He was subsequently arrested for assault on a police officer, interfering with the execution of police duties and impersonating a police officer.

The 4 arrested persons will appear in court soon, Jansen concludes.
