Leak allegedly worse following repair attempt by municipality

KIMBERLEY – A water leak in Ramatshela Street in Galeshewe has been a problem for months, but it was allegedly made worse last week after workers from the Sol Plaatje Municipality attempted to repair it.

This according to Boyce Makodi, a concerned city resident.

He says: “Municipal workers came to fix a well-known leak on 26 March at 10:00 but they actually made the matter worse and water has been wasting ever since.”

“I have been trying to get a hold of them personally since yesterday but they kept dropping the phone in my ear.”

“The yard of the resident who has to live with the burst pipe on their pavement is currently flooded with water.”

“I got a hold of them and they assured me they will send the reference number, I don’t know why they couldn’t give it over the fone????????‍♂️,” Makodi concludes.
