NORTHERN CAPE – The Hopetown detectives made a breakthrough in tracking down and arresting three suspects accused of raping a 17-year-old girl in Hopetown.
According to a police spokesperson the suspects had been hiding from the authorities, subsequent to raping the victim.
“The three were arrested in Hopetown early this morning, during suspect tracing operations. It is reported that early this month the three men abducted the victim, forced her inside a shack in Hopetown, where they took turns to rape her.”
“The suspects aged 22, 28 and 33 are expected to appear before the Hopetown Magistrate’s Court soon on counts of rape and abduction.”
