The Sol Plaatje Municipality has restored water to various parts of the city on a rotational basis, however have remained vague over the cause of the problem that has left residents days and nights without water.
Sello Matsie, the municipal spokesperson, says the Waterworks Department has been able to start up Newton Reservoir pumps as of this morning after a slight improvement in Dam levels to supply parts of the City.
“The Municipality would like to provide an interim water supply time-based Schedule for the following geographical Zones of the entire city.”
ZONE ONE
Schedule time for supply: 04:00 to 11:00
CBD, Hearlear, Beaconsfield, South Ridge, Eltoropark, Hadisonpark, New park, Rhodesdene, Roylglen, Monumentheights, Greenpoint, Cassandra, De Beers, Kimberley North, Utility, Florianville.
“NB: Areas which are getting direct supply from Newton Reservoir through our pump station.”
ZONE TWO
Schedule time for supply: 16:00 to 20:00
Larger parts of Galeshewe including Phutanang, Phomolong, Ipopeng, Ipeleng, Kagisho, Tlhageng, Tswelelang, Retswelele, Chris Hani, Kutlwanong, Soul City, Redirile, and the Greater Number Two etc.
ZONE THREE
Schedule time for supply: 11:00 to 14:00
Homestead, Homevale, Homevalley, Homelite, Homevale Extension.
ZONE FOUR
Schedule time for supply: 14:00 to 17:00
The entire Roodepan Area, Lerato Park, Lethabo Park, Jacksonville.
“NB: The above is indicative and can be changed at any time but should preferably not exceed allocated time frames. The community is advised to call the call centre for areas that may not get any supply. Water Tankers continues to supply Hospitals, old age homes.
