An urgent call is being made for public comment as only four days have been provided, over a weekend, for comment on the taxpayer-funded vaccine injury scheme, says DearSA.
Rob Hutchinson, Managing Director of Dear South Africa, says Minster Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma has called for public comment on a draft proposal establishing a COVID-19 Vaccine Injury No-Fault Compensation Scheme.
“The Scheme proposes to establish a taxpayer-funded compensation fund for persons who suffer vaccine injury as a result of a COVID-19 vaccine. Under the Disaster Management Act, the Scheme shifts an injury claim from the vaccine manufacturer to the taxpayer.”
“The Minister published the proposal on 15 April, providing only four days, over a weekend, for public comment – our legal team has demanded an extension of three weeks. Given the likelihood of a court case, it is extremely urgent that you and all your contacts have a say at the link below.”
SHOULD THIS SCHEME BE IMPLEMENTED?
“This is an opportunity to immediately impact this draft proposal before it is implemented. Have your say by clicking the green button or the link below.”

“Thank you for being democratically engaged, active and responsible,” Hutchinson concludes.
