CAPE TOWN – Recently, forty grade 7 learners from Loeriesfontein Primary School had the opportunity to explore the beautiful city of Cape Town. The five-day educational tour was funded by the Loeriesfontein and Khobab Wind Farms, with the aim of exposing learners to alternate perspectives and expanding their knowledge.

During the tour, the learners visited Table Mountain, the V&A Waterfront aquarium, and enjoyed a harbour cruise. Vanessa Fredericks, Economic Development Manager for Khobab Wind Farm, explained that the tour was aimed at motivating learners to work harder and set goals for their future.

Joline Klaaste, Loeriesfontein Primary School Principal, also commented on the tour, saying that it was an invaluable experience for the learners, giving them a chance to broaden their horizon and discover a world of possibilities.

This tour is just one of many educational programmes and initiatives that the local wind farm supports in Loeriesfontein. They also offer a bursary programme for local students that extends all the way through to tertiary education.

Overall, the tour provided a great opportunity for the learners to create memories that will last a lifetime and to bring subjects to life, boost their self-confidence, motivate them, and encourage good behaviour.
