Melkbos SAPS Saves the Day

On February 21, 2023, at around 16:15, Peter Pentz was driving on the R27 towards Melkbosstrandstraat, on his way to a doctor’s appointment. Suddenly he heard a loud “Ki-tik-ki-tik-ki-tik”, realizing he had a flat tire. With his appointment only fifteen minutes away, he knew that he would not be able to make it in time if he changed the tire himself.

Thankfully, 500 meters away was Melkbos SAPS. Peter quickly drove there and asked if someone could help him change the tire quickly. Immediately, Constable Francke stepped outside to help. Knowing that Peter was going to be late for his appointment, the Constable suggested that one of his colleagues take Peter to his appointment in a police vehicle.

The Constable loaded Peter into the vehicle and said he would take care of the tire while Peter went to his appointment. When Peter returned half an hour later, the tire was already changed. Constable Francke dusted off his hands and said “Just in time!”

Touched by their kindness, Peter asked if he could take a photo of them for Facebook. The Constable politely declined, saying that it was just a good deed. He wished Peter safe travels with the new tire and said goodbye.

Peter would like to thank Constables Francke and Mollet for their selfless service. He salutes them for their generosity and kindness.
