The Hadison Park Post Office, a branch of the South African Postal Service located on Long street at the OK Tower Supermarket in Kimberley, is closing down and residents of the area will soon feel the impact of this news.
The branch, which was renowned for its friendly staff and efficient service, was a popular destination for locals to send mail or renew motor vehicle licenses.
According to a local resident, when they went to send a letter the postal worker informed them that mail isn’t going out anymore and even if they did accept the mail they couldn’t guarantee when the recipient would receive it. When asked to purchase an envelope, the postal worker said that all their stock has already been taken.
This is concerning news for the residents of Kimberley as it was one of the most productive and friendly branches of the South African Postal Service in the area, also providing services such as motor vehicle license renewals.
The closure of this branch is a big loss for the community. This news has left many residents concerned and disappointed. Many relied on this branch, and it will surely be missed.
It is unclear why the branch is closing down, but it is clear that its absence will be felt throughout the community.
