We should all be more vigilant and obey the traffic rules, especially during load shedding when the streets are dark and you can’t see what lies ahead. 

Load shedding has become the bain of many South African’s existences, but it is even more dangerous in Kimberley due to the lack of traffic enforcement. The Sol Plaatje Municipality should be doing more to ensure that the streets are safe and that motorists are aware of the dangers of driving on dark streets during load shedding. 

The Sol Plaatje Municipality should invest in more traffic officers and the necessary equipment to ensure that the streets of Kimberley are safe. They should also invest in public awareness campaigns to educate motorists on the importance of taking extra care on dark streets during load shedding. 

The South African Police Service and the Sol Plaatje Traffic Department should also be doing more to ensure that the streets of Kimberley are safe. They should increase their patrols and be issuing more fines to those drivers that break the law. 

It is important for all motorists to be aware of the dangers of driving on dark streets during load shedding, and to obey the traffic rules. With increased awareness and enforcement, Kimberley streets can become safer for all.
