Low water pressure due to repairs at Newton Reservoir

Editorial Staff

Residents of Kimberley in the Northern Cape have been experiencing low to no water pressure in some areas due to repair works at the Newton Reservoir. Mark J Erasmus, a Kimberley resident, reported the news via Social Media.

Sol Plaatje Waterworks are currently busy repairing a pipe at the Newton Reservoir, which has forced them to switch off the reservoir. This has resulted in residents that are directly fed from the Newton Reservoir having little to no water pressure from their taps.

No timeframe was given for when the water pressure will be restored, but Sol Plaatje Waterworks are working hard to get the repairs done as soon as possible.

In the meantime, residents are advised to use water sparingly and to store some water in containers in case of emergencies.

It is unclear how long the repair works will take, but the Sol Plaatje Municipality is doing their best to get the water pressure restored as soon as possible.
