HARTSWATER – The Hawks Serious Commercial Crime Investigation in Kimberley is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects wanted on fraud charges. In November 2019, an amount of R6 million was illegally transferred from a Hartswater pharmacy’s bank account into a Luno account registered to the duo.
The suspects, Lindelani Mbatha (38) from Kwa-Madondo in KwaZulu-Natal Province, and Ellen Baloyi (31) from Meadowlands in Soweto are both persons of interest in the matter and could assist with ongoing investigations.
The Hawks Serious Commercial Crime Investigation is a specialised unit within the South African Police Service (SAPS). The unit focuses on the prevention and investigation of serious financial and commercial crimes such as fraud and corruption.
The Hawks are committed to ensuring that those responsible for committing fraud are held accountable and brought to justice. The public’s assistance is critical in achieving this objective.
