KIMBERLEY – Shoppers at Pick ’n Pay North Cape Mall should be aware that specials advertised in the store’s promotional pamphlet they received on Tuesday may not be accurate or may not apply. Several customers have recently reported being charged more than the advertised price for certain items during this promotional period, and more concerning the pricing on the receipt was higher than the normal pricing indicated on the shelf.
One customer paid R59.97 for three packets of Simba 120g chips, despite the ad saying they should pay only R42. Paying R17.97 more when the customer should have saved R14 according to the advertised savings.
Another customer paid R35.99 for 900g of NoName Mixed Frozen Vegetables, despite the ad saying it should be R24.99 and the price label on the shelf stating R29.99 when the advertisement touted “Save R5”. This was a difference of R11 and the customer did not get the advertised savings of R4.99.
Lastly, a customer paid R33.98 for two English Cumbers, despite the ad saying they should pay only R25. This was a difference of R8.98 and the customer was not able to get the advertised savings of R4.
This is concerning because the specials in question have been on promo from 13 March to 22 March, so customers should be particularly aware of any discrepancies during this period.
It is important for customers to be aware that the specials advertised in the promotional pamphlet may not be accurate or may not apply. Customers should double-check the prices on the shelf and at the checkout before purchasing items, to ensure that they are getting the advertised savings.
The promotion’s terms and conditions state that the pricing is only valid at Pick ’N Pay QualiSave stores.
The Pick ’N Pay Store Locator does not list any Pick ’N Pay QualiSave branches in the city. Despite this, some residents received this promotional pamphlet delivered to their homes on Tuesday.
Although this store is not listed as a QualiSave, the canned tuna 2 for R34, the Cadbury chocolate slabs 2 for R30, and 2kg Spekko rice for R27.99 were on special at this branch, as advertised in this brochure.
Therefore, this could be even more confusing and upsetting for shoppers expecting savings, only to end up spending more at the checkout.
