A resident of Ward 25 in Kimberley has developed a chest rash after exposure to a dumpster fire in Beaconsfield between 15 and 16 March 2023. The dumpster fire was allegedly smouldering unattended for almost two days.
Residents are encouraged to contact their doctor if they have experienced any symptoms, as exposure to waste fires and toxic dumpster fires can cause a range of health issues. These can include skin rashes, eye irritation, respiratory issues, headaches, nausea, and dizziness. In some cases, exposure to toxic waste can also cause long-term illnesses such as asthma, cancer, and neurological disorders.
The cause of the chest rash experienced by the community member is still unknown, though it is speculated that it could be due to allergic, autoimmune, or environmental triggers directly caused by the rubbish that was burned in the dumpster fire.
Residents who have developed any symptoms, including pain, itchiness, or general discomfort, should contact their doctor or healthcare provider for a medical assessment. It is important to seek medical attention immediately to prevent further health complications.
The Kimberley Prospector is also encouraging residents to share their stories with the community newspaper. If you have experienced any health issues related to toxic dumpster fires, please contact us and tell us your story.
