USA – On the night of February 20th, 2020, 42-year-old Sarah Boone allegedly left her “abusive” boyfriend, 42-year-old George Torres Jr. locked up in a suitcase after she passed out in her bed after what she claims was “a night of fun and games”. Though Sarah claims it was an unintentional accident, the truth of what happened that night can be found in two videos found on Sarah’s phone.
The videos, taken at 11:12 PM and 11:24 PM on that night, show Sarah laughing at George while he’s zipped up in a suitcase, despite his protests that he can’t breathe. Sarah is heavily intoxicated in the videos, and it is later revealed that she and George had been drinking wine together before the incident. Sarah phoned 9-1-1 the following morning when she “found” George was still in the suitcase.
Forensics later revealed that George sustained injuries the night he died and that there was a 12-hour gap between the time stamp of the videos and the moment police showed up on her doorstep. It is possible that Sarah had set up the entire scene of events as an act of revenge.
During Sarah’s interrogation, the investigators read her rights and asked her questions about the events leading up to George’s death. They also took Sarah’s DNA and fingerprints.
At the end of the interrogation, the investigators asked Sarah to make a solemn declaration to close out the interrogation. Sarah was then taken to the Orange County Jail and charged with second-degree murder. She is currently awaiting trial, which is set for April 10th of this year.
Her ex-husband revealed that George had been arrested multiple times for domestic violence against Sarah and that Sarah had bailed him out every time.
Sarah Boone’s story is a tragic example of how a seemingly innocent night can turn into a nightmare in an instant, or was it premeditated? See the video of the interrogation below.
