Investigating & Charging in Disciplinary Hearings: An Online Course for Labour Law Compliance

Editorial Staff

Labour law compliance is essential in the workplace, and employers and employees alike should be aware of the legal obligations and rights afforded in the Labour Relations Act (LRA) of 1995. One such obligation is the requirement for employers to conduct disciplinary hearings when there is an allegation of misconduct or poor performance. Additionally, the LRA requires employers to provide employees with a fair and reasonable hearing, in which employees have the right to be informed of the accusations, to present evidence and to call witnesses.

To ensure that employers, managers, shop stewards and citizens are clued up on the essential principles of labour law, an online course has been created to explore Investigating & Charging in Disciplinary Hearings. This course provides an understanding of the employer’s legal obligations and employees’ rights in disciplinary hearings. It also provides an understanding of the CCMA’s role in terms of reinstatement or compensation awards for employees whose dismissal or disciplinary action was found to be unfair.

The course, which will be held online, will take place on 21 April 2023 and will cost R950. For more information and to register for the course, please contact Enola at 079 889 7923.
