KIMBERLEY – In the latest update from Sol Plaatje Municipality, repairs on the 900mm manifold in Riverton have been completed. This is a positive development as areas like Roodepan and parts of Galeshewe, which are directly supplied from Riverton, have started receiving water. However, for residents receiving water from the Newton Reservoir, the situation remains frustrating as they continue to experience low water pressure. The municipality acknowledges that this issue persists because they are still running with only one pump.
Residents have expressed their disappointment and inconvenience caused by the ongoing water problems. While the completion of repairs in Riverton is encouraging, it raises questions about the prioritization of repairs and the allocation of resources.
Though the municipality regrets the inconvenience caused to residents, it is essential for them to provide more frequent updates on their progress and plans to resolve the ongoing issue. Residents are hopeful for a swift resolution and deserve transparency and accountability from their municipality in managing water distribution.
