The Sol Plaatje Municipality has shut down the water supply from the Newton Reservoir for urgent repairs to be made to a burst pipe in Lawson Street.

Councilor Ockert Fourie says: “Please note that due to urgent repairs to a massive pipe burst at the sports field behind the Sol Plaatje Municipality at Lawson Street, the Newton Reservoir will be shut down with immediate effect to the low lying areas.”

Fourie says the estimated time of repair is not known.
