UPINGTON – A 57-year-old suspect has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a cash-in-transit robbery yesterday at the Kalahari Mall in Upington.

According to Hawks’ spokesperson Nomthandazo Mnisi, two security guards were busy loading cash at an ATM at the mall when five unknown suspects held them at gunpoint. The suspects fled with two cellphones, two handguns and an undisclosed amount of money.
She says one of the suspect has been arrested and is expected to appear before the Upington Magistrate court tomorrow.
“Leads are being followed regarding more suspects,” concludes Mnisi.
