A “major leak” has been discovered on the 600mm pipeline approximately 8 to 10km from Riverton.
Ockert Fourie, DA Councillor, says while the pumps are in good working order at Newton Reservoir although dam levels are still critically low. The bad news though is that there is no water pressure on the 600mm pipeline yet again due to another major leak on the pipeline about 8 to 10km from Riverton.”
“After about 4 years of monitoring the water situation, it has become evident that Kimberley will be having problems within a few hours and the pumps may be shut down predictably so. I may be wrong, but it has become a trend which after 4 years of following have never failed.”
“Belgravia, Herlear, Klisseville and some parts of Beaconsfield will be reported on shortly,” Fourie concludes.
