Residents in Kimberley’s Kamfersdam Old Station area are pleading with the Sol Plaatje Municipality to urgently address their street lighting issues.
E. de Beer, a local resident, reported the issue to the municipality last year but there has been no response.
“I’m on my knees begging the Sol Plaatje Municipality to please come and fix our street lights,” said de Beer.
The area has fields, grass and railway tracks, making it unsafe for residents.
“We need the lights to be fixed as soon as possible so that we can feel safe in our own homes,” de Beer said.
The Sol Plaatje Municipality has been urged to take immediate action to address the situation.
“We understand the urgency and importance of this matter and we hope that the municipality will act swiftly to resolve it,” said de Beer.
Residents in the area are hoping that the Sol Plaatje Municipality will take their pleas seriously and take action to fix the street lights.
