DELPORTSHOOP – The Galeshewe SAPS Family Violence, Children and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit is requesting the assistance of the public in tracing a person of interest in solving a rape case. The case is related to the ongoing investigation into the abduction of a 15-year-old female victim in Proteahof in Delportshoop on Monday, 13 January 2023.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim drove with a person named Solomon Mdluli from Delportshoop. She was under the impression that they were going to the R31 road crossing, but instead, he drove to a guesthouse in Ganyesa where he allegedly raped the victim twice. The suspect then brought the victim back to Delportshoop on Thursday, 16 March 2023, dropped her at the police station and instructed her to lie to the police to protect him from being arrested.
The suspect is reportedly residing at Ganyesa RDP Section in the North West Province, but he could not be traced at home. The Galeshewe SAPS FCS Unit is now requesting assistance from the public to help track down the person of interest, Solomon Mdluli.
