[WATCH] Arrest Made in Kimberley Shooting Tragedy: 47-Year-Old Suspect in Custody

In a swift and decisive move, Kimberley police have apprehended a 47-year-old man in connection with the shooting incident that unfolded on 27 December 2023, claiming the life of a 43-year-old woman. The suspect was arrested at a residence in Beaconsfield, Kimberley, on 28 December 2023 at approximately 09:50, following a diligent follow-up on information received.

During the arrest, law enforcement successfully recovered and confiscated a firearm believed to be linked to the tragic incident. The suspect, now in custody, faces a charge of murder and is expected to appear in court in the coming days.

The arrest brings a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation, providing a sense of closure to the Kimberley community that has been grappling with the aftermath of the shocking shooting. The South African Police Service (SAPS) expressed appreciation for the public’s cooperation and assistance throughout the investigation.
