A concerned mother in Kimberley has shared a disturbing video capturing the moment her son was robbed at knifepoint this afternoon near Pick n Pay Rhodesdene. The mother posted the video on social media to warn others about the danger.
In the video, a young man with a short beard can be seen approaching the victim from behind on Jameson Avenue. He then threatens the victim with a large knife, demanding his mobile phone, a Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite. The victim, visibly shaken, complies and the robber flees the scene running up Harvey Street.
The mother expressed her shock and relief that her son escaped serious injury, although he sustained minor cuts. She is urging the public to be extremely cautious, especially in the area where the incident occurred. The phone case was discarded nearby and could potentially contain fingerprints.
