Water cut early due to critically low levels at Newton Reservoir

KIMBERLEY – The pumps at the Newton Reservoir was switched off without warning early this afternoon at 16:00 as dam levels continue to dwindle.

According to DA Councilor Ockert Fourie, the Newton Reservoir had to be shut down due to critically low levels.

He says the first pump will be restarted tomorrow morning at 04:00 with the second one following at 05:00.

Despite a nightly shutdown at the reservoir the dam levels have remained low.
