Justice for Hector

HERMANUS – Hector, the 7 month old Boxer puppy from Hermanus, seems to be doing okay after traumatic ordeal with pet sitters.

Hector’s owner, Mel Coltman, says: “From Hector and his family, thank you to the Hermanus community for all their support, messages and standing up for our animals rights. Thank you to everyone on social media who created awareness by sharing Hectors story far and wide.”

Coltman says they are relieved that Hector seems relatively okay despite the physical abuse he has endured. “Although traumatized, Hector is okay and safely with his family.”

“A special thanks to Luan van Niekerk from Van Niekerk & Jansen van Rensburg Attorneys for offering their services probono in this case.”

“Thank you to Zelda la Grange for jumping on board and putting us in touch with the NSPCA and for using this opportunity to find a better way going forward of regulating pet sitting.”

“A criminal case has been opened against the pet sitters for the despicable actions against our beautiful puppy which took place on the weekend of 20-23 March.”

“We would like to request that the community not take matters into their own hands, rest assured that justice will be served,” concludes Coltman.
