In a bid to streamline and enhance service delivery, the Sol Plaatje Municipality has officially launched a toll-free number for residents to report various faults related to essential services. The toll-free number, 080 122 9010, serves as a cost-free voice telephone option connecting citizens with the municipality’s Control Room.

Thabo Mothibi from the Communications Unit at Sol Plaatje Municipality announced the initiative in a public notice on Monday, January 22, 2024. The toll-free line is specifically designated for reporting issues related to water, sewer, electricity, roads, stormwater, potholes, streetlights, and more.

Furthermore, Mothibi hinted at future plans to introduce additional means of providing residents and ratepayers with enhanced access through new media channels. The municipality aims to leverage modern technology to further facilitate communication and engagement with the community.

The toll-free service is expected to ease the reporting process, allowing residents to promptly alert the municipality about any service-related concerns without incurring any costs. Sol Plaatje Municipality encourages residents to utilize the toll-free number for prompt assistance and efficient problem resolution.
