KIMBERLEY – A spaza shop owner in Kagisho was arrested on Tuesday after authorities seized illicit cigarettes worth an estimated R10 000, and discovered expired goods on the premises. The 25-year-old Ethiopian national was charged with dealing in illicit cigarettes.
The arrest was made during a stop-and-search operation conducted by the Vala Umgodi Operational team, a combined force of SAPS and SANDF, as part of ongoing compliance inspections targeting tuck shops in the area.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Galeshewe Magistrates Court soon.
