KIMBERLEY – A large quantity of suspected stolen government property was recovered in Kimberley, leading to the arrest of three men.

Large blue bags containing blank template government documents were found during a police stop of a blue Volkswagen vehicle at the Kimberley Tourism Centre. These documents, typically used for printing official licenses and certificates, included temporary driving licenses, motor vehicle licenses, and vehicle registration certificates. A printer with a scanner was also seized from the vehicle.

The three male occupants of the vehicle, aged between 27 and 45, were unable to explain how they came to have these items. Further investigation revealed the materials were likely linked to a burglary reported at a municipality in Groblershoop on February 19, 2024.

The three suspects are expected to appear in the Kimberley Magistrates Court soon. The investigation continues.
