Van Niekerk and Jansen van Rensburg Attorneys, the lawyers representing Hector’s owner pro bono, says the matter against the two accused has been postponed until 26 April 2021 for further investigation, and for the accused to appoint an attorney.

“They are currently out on a warning.”

Support for Hector the Protector

“Our firm has been approached by a number of good Samaritans wishing to contribute to the legal fees of Hector and his family. However, as we are assisting pro bono in this matter no legal fees shall be raised. Instead, our clients expressed their wishes for donations to be made to the SPCA Cape of Good Hope’s Inspectorate Department for their tireless fight against animal cruelty.”

“Food, blankets and toys can also be dropped off at our offices at 50 Main Road, Hermanus, same shall be donated by the family in Hector’s name to pups in need.”

“We will be showing our support to Hector and his family by setting up a Mobile Donation Station for all dogfood, blanket and toy donations.“

Monetary donations can still be made directly to the SPCA Cape of Good Hope into the following account, the legal firm concludes.
